Which type of printing technique/workshop are you interested in? *

I teach two techniques/styles of printing with vintage metal & wood type: Traditional Typesetting & Printing and Quick-Stamping. Traditional Typsetting & Printing is a slower & more patient process of setting lines of type to create a design, just how printers of centuries past printed. Participants will each set their own design in vintage type & ornaments and pull 10 prints of their design on a proofing press. This workshop is 5 hours long. Quick-Stamping, also known as Werkman Style, is a quick mono-printing technique named after the Dutch designer, H.N. Werkman— and it's how I sketch out ideas for my printed designs. Participants in this workshop will ink up pieces of vintage type & ornaments and stamp them into the paper to create multiple one-off prints. This workshop is 3 hours long.
